Why AWANA?
AWANA helps churches and parents raise children to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ! Currently over a million children attend AWANA programs each week in over 18,000 churches worldwide.
When does AWANA meet?
On Monday nights, September through May from 6:00-7:45pm. For parents, the north Plymouth small group, led by Pastor Dean, meets during AWANA. A nursery is provided for those who stay for the small group. For more information see the small groups page.
Who can participate in Awana?
Any child 3 years old through 6th grade may participate in AWANA. You do not have to be a member of Lake Pointe Bible Church to attend, so friends and neighbors are invited to join us at AWANA!
How are the clubs divided?
We offer three different AWANA clubs: Cubbies, Sparks, and T&T.
Cubbies
For children age 3 through age 5 (who do not yet attend kindergarten)
Preschoolers can hardly wait for their next Cubbies club meeting. Whether it’s the fun puppets, the exciting games or all their “Cubbies friends,” they simply love it. At Story Time each week, Cubbies learn about God – the greatness of His love and His Word – and about His Son, Jesus Christ, the promised Savior. Non-competitive games and crafts build excitement and reinforce Story Time lesson themes. Cubbies helps you lead your child to God early so she will respect and trust Him for life.

Sparks
For children in kindergarten through 2nd grade
To many children in kindergarten through second grade, Sparks is the highlight of the week! They love the exciting games and spending time with leaders and friends. Sparks is divided into three years, each with a unique rank. The handbook activities, combined with group lessons, will introduce Sparks clubbers to people throughout the entire Bible. As always, your child will be encouraged to memorize Bible verses each week.
Sparks Director – April Maikowski (734-420-4019)
Truth & Training
For children in grades 3 through 6
Handbook activities and group lessons will deepen your child’s knowledge about God and His Word and teach him or her how to put that knowledge into action in everyday life. Team oriented games encourage children to work together.
T&T is designed to help kids stay plugged in as they move into the preteen years and continue growing in their relationship with Christ.
T & T Director – Jon Graff (248-376-6548)
How much does Awana cost?
The weekly dues are shown in the table below. You can also prepay the dues instead of having your child pay weekly. The dues cover expenses such as awards worn on the uniforms, prizes, candy, supplies purchased for special theme nights, and other expenses incurred by the club. The dues DO NOT cover the cost of uniforms or books. However, don’t let financial hardship be a reason for not attending. If for any reason your family cannot afford a uniform or book, please contact us.
